GENNYA LITTLE SUENIVERSE COMPANY

Living with Genny

Make yourself
at home.

A few first steps, a few little discoveries, and help when a snack doesn’t quite land.

This is your guide to the physical Genny. Her controls open on a separate browser page served by your own Genny.

Genny is coming soon. She is in the final stages of research and development and will be available for purchase soon. Orders are not open yet. See Genny in the TBC3d store →

Your first three little moments.

Power Genny using the connection and supply specified with your unit. Let her startup progress bar and face reveal finish before trying a gesture.

  1. Say hello. Gently tap the nose area on her screen and lift your finger.
  2. Offer a snack. Hold a Genny snack token close to the left side of her head. Watch for her response, then remove it.
  3. Visit her gallery. Connect your phone, open Sketch Gallery, and choose a saved picture to draw.

Her touchscreen responds better to a fingernail or touchscreen stylus than a soft fingertip. Use a gentle touch for taps, strokes, and holds.

You can return here whenever you want to try something new.

A small guide to her face.

Genny’s touchscreen: forehead, nose, and cheeks A front view of Genny’s cyan face. Area 1 is the forehead above the eyes: hold for three seconds to open the menu. Area 2 is the nose in the middle of the screen: tap for a boop, or tap twice quickly for a double boop. Area 3 is either cheek, below and outside the eyes: gently stroke across a cheek. Amber outlines mark touch areas. 1233
1 Forehead

Hold steadily for 3 seconds to open her menu.

2 Nose

Tap for a boop. Tap twice within about 0.7 seconds for a double boop.

3 Either cheek

Gently stroke across a cheek for a warm reaction.

A little touch tip

Her screen responds better to a fingernail or touchscreen stylus than a soft fingertip. Use gentle pressure.

The numbered highlights are guide labels; they do not appear on Genny’s screen.
Her touchscreen responds best to a fingernail or touchscreen stylus; a soft fingertip may be less responsive.
WhereWhat to doWhat happens
NoseTap and release.A boop reaction; sleeping Genny begins her usual wake response.
Nose, twiceMake two quick taps within about 0.7 seconds.A pleased double-boop flourish when she’s available.
CheekGently stroke across a cheek.A warm cheek-rub reaction.
ForeheadHold steadily for three seconds. Her on-device menu opens.

Repeated quick boops can make her annoyed. Give her a little space and let the expression pass.

Stories, drawings, menus, and other activities have their own controls. If a gesture doesn’t respond, finish or close the activity first.

Open your Genny’s browser page.

Two pages, two purposes.

TBC3d.com has Genny’s guide, token instructions, and lore. Your Genny’s browser page controls the unit beside you. Use the address or QR code she shows, rather than this website, to feed her or change a setting.

Connect directly

  1. Hold her forehead for three seconds and choose Connect phone.
  2. Choose Connect directly and follow her on-screen instructions. Use Show QR to join her hotspot.
  3. Keep your phone connected even if it says the network has no Internet.
  4. Choose Next on Genny and scan the next QR code to open her browser controls.

Use home Wi-Fi

Connect Genny to your home’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, then put your phone on the same network to open her browser page. Our illustrated guide walks you through her temporary hotspot, setup screens, and connection troubleshooting.

Wi-Fi setup guide →

Next time, Connect phone → Open phone page (QR) is available when she is connected. Bookmark the page if you like; the QR code gives you the current address if the network changes it.

Done returns to her face. Use Stop hotspot when you want to turn off her direct hotspot.

Genny remembers up to three successful home networks. Browser controls work locally without Internet; clock synchronization needs Internet access.

A little tour of her phone menu.

Once connected, this is your starting point for activities and settings on your own Genny.

Genny

Play together

Genny’s Inner World

Clock

Settings

Her main browser activities. Use the address or QR code on your own Genny. Labels and appearance may vary with firmware.

Play together

Offer a treat in Mystery snacks, play Peekaboo, choose a drawing in Sketch Gallery, or open an installed story in Story Library. Genny reads the stories installed on her; she does not write new stories from this menu.

Genny’s Inner World

Check her current craving, pantry stock, and gently changing tendencies. These are little glimpses of her state, not scores you need to keep full.

Clock

Choose Show clock on Genny to watch her draw a little clock and show the current local time. Tap her screen to return, or the clock closes after 20 seconds.

Settings

Adjust brightness, sleep, sound, Quiet Hours, timezone, and other preferences. Wait for the saved confirmation after a change.

This is her local control page, not TBC3d.com. Keep your phone on Genny’s hotspot or the same home network while using it.

A token to keep. A pantry to share.

Hold a snack token close to the left side of Genny’s head, watch her response, and take it away. Before another scan, leave it out of range for about a second. Keeping it beside her head does not repeatedly feed her.

In the browser, choose Play together → Mystery snacks to see stock and offer a treat by tapping it or swiping it upward.

What she’s craving

Open Genny’s Inner World and choose Next craving. When available, she shows the treat in a thought bubble. Asking uses no stock; tapping the snack inside that visible bubble offers it.

A little snack patience

After a successful feeding, that snack has a 30-second wait shared by tokens, browser feeding, and craving taps. Mystery chooses a stocked treat that is off its wait; both Mystery and the chosen treat then wait 30 seconds.

Each real snack bin holds up to five. Cookie and Tea replenish one item every 12 hours of running time; the other treats replenish one every 24 running hours, while there is space. Time with power off does not count toward these refills.

Sometimes she prefers something else. A refused offer leaves stock untouched. Check the treat she is asking for, or try again after her response finishes.

A little movement gets her attention.

Alongside her touchscreen, Genny has an accelerometer and gyro that sense motion and vibration. These reactions come from moving or tapping her physical shell.

Turn or tilt her

Gently turn Genny from side to side, tip her forward or back, or tilt her head to one side. Her face shifts with the movement and catches up as she settles. Holding her at an angle does not keep her face permanently shifted.

Pick her up and set her down

Being picked up can bring a brief wide-eyed look. Once she is resting again, she may give a soft settling blink. Move her gently and pause between movements to let each response finish.

Tap her shell

A light tap on her shell can earn a surprised acknowledgment. If she is asleep, a detected tap begins a yawn and her normal wake response, sometimes with a sleepy robot mumble. A shell tap can also interrupt a drawing.

Repeated taps can make her annoyed, so give her a little breathing room between them. Shell taps are separate from nose boops on the touchscreen.

A bumpy ride

Repeated vibrations can bring wide eyes and a little side-to-side searching glance. Her tap sensitivity adjusts during vibration, so every bump does not become another deliberate tap.

The wrong way up

If she stays upside down briefly, she may look distinctly queasy, with a greenish face. Set her upright and give her a moment to recover.

Some motion reactions pause while another activity owns her screen. Story reading pauses ordinary motion reactions; close the reader before trying them. Her short sounds follow the usual volume and Quiet Hours settings.

A question for your little oracle.

Ask a yes-or-no question, then hold the Question / Magic 8 Ball token close to the left side of Genny’s head and take it away. She thinks for a moment, then gives a happy nod for YES!, a head shake for NOPE!, or changes her mind and shows ASK ME AGAIN? with question-mark eyes.

Her answer is random; she does not hear or understand the question. It is a little game, not advice. Wait about eight seconds from the start of one question before asking another, and remove the token between presentations.

The token wakes a sleeping Genny for the game. Let other activities finish and close an open menu or story first. Her short robot replies follow volume and Quiet Hours settings, and the game works without Wi-Fi.

Meet your Question token →

Watch a picture take shape.

In Play together → Sketch Gallery, choose a saved picture to draw. Draw Sketch asks for the next drawing. In Settings, Make sketches automatically lets her choose drawings during quiet awake moments.

Her pencil moves through the picture, pauses to think, and adds her signature. Let a drawing finish before offering another activity.

The Pencil token asks for a random drawing from her ordinary collection. A sketch-pack token chooses from its installed collection; the matching pack must already be on Genny.

A little rest. A little wonder.

Choose Settings → Sleep timeout to set how long she waits before resting, or choose Stay awake. Sleeping Genny may show a short sequence of illustrated dreams. A deliberate nose touch begins her normal wake response.

The Dream Wand introduces a dream sequence without making an awake Genny stay asleep afterward. If she began asleep, she returns to sleep. Touch can interrupt the wand performance.

Presence can earn a greeting or curious look when she is awake; sustained nearby movement can also wake her from sleep. A stationary companion alone does not trigger that wake.

Her first deliberate interaction during the local morning may lead to a stretch and greeting. The clock and timezone need to be known for that morning moment.

Settle in with an illustrated story.

  1. Open Play together → Story Library in the browser.
  2. Choose an installed story and select Read on Genny.
  3. Swipe up or down on her screen through the text and pictures.
  4. Tap Close at the top of her screen to return to her face. The browser also has Close reader.

Stories stay open for you to read at your own pace. Ordinary face gestures and motion reactions pause while the reader is open.

Make her comfortable in your space.

Open Settings on Genny’s browser page. Changes save automatically; wait for the confirmation message.

Screen, sleep, and sound

Choose Screen brightness, Sleep timeout, Make sketches automatically, and Sound volume. Off silences audio. Test sound plays a short startup voice when she is available and ordinary audio is allowed.

Quiet Hours

Enable Quiet Hours, set Silent from and Sound resumes at, and check her local timezone. The default quiet window is 10:00 p.m.–8:00 a.m. Her face and activities continue while ordinary sounds are muted.

With Quiet Hours enabled, ordinary audio stays silent until she knows her local time and timezone. If she is unexpectedly quiet after a power-up, check her connection and clock.

Reminders have their own little entrance.

Go To Bed and Get Up! each have an enable switch, time, and test button. Defaults are 11:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., enabled. Both use Genny’s local time.

Reminders and reminder tests can wake her and bypass Quiet Hours. Sound volume Off still silences them. Turn off the reminder switches if you do not want the performances.

A reminder is one short robot performance, not a repeating alarm. Touch, NFC, or another foreground activity can interrupt it. Busy or unpowered Genny may miss it.

Time & timezone

Choose your timezone or Use this phone/computer’s timezone. Choose your local timezone so her clock and reminders follow your time.

Internet synchronization sets the clock. She keeps time offline while powered, but needs a fresh synchronization after a cold power-up for time-based features.

Tendencies, not a scorecard.

Open Genny’s Inner World in her browser to see her current craving, pantry total, and eight tendencies. They change gradually while she is powered, with small effects from rest, company, touch, snacks, and drawing.

TendencyWhat it describes
HungerHer growing appetite for a treat.
EnergyHow rested she is.
MoodHer general cheerfulness.
CuriosityHer interest in what’s happening.
Social BatteryHer capacity for lively company; rest and quiet time help it recover.
MischiefHer playful streak.
Creative SparkHer creative reserves between drawings.
Cozy LevelHow settled and comfortable she feels.

There is no need to keep every meter full. Some tendencies subtly color her calm face; they do not all unlock separate activities.

A little help.

My token did nothing.

Let her finish a drawing, snack, or wand dream. Close an open menu or story. Take the token away for about a second and present it close to the left side of her head again.

She says “STILL ENJOYING THAT!”

The snack is still on its 30-second wait. Browser feeding, craving taps, and tokens share that wait. Mystery can also be waiting, or have no stocked treat currently off its wait.

She says the snack is gone.

Check stock in Mystery snacks. Try another stocked treat or let the pantry replenish while she runs. A rejected offer does not consume stock.

She has question-mark eyes and says “WHAT’S THIS?”

She could not recognize that token. Try a known Genny token. A sketch-pack token also needs its matching installed collection. If a familiar token repeatedly fails, note which one for support.

She is silent.

Check Settings → Sound volume, Quiet Hours, and her local clock. Ordinary sounds may also be skipped while another sound or activity is in progress. Quiet Hours can mute Test sound; reminder tests bypass them, so check volume before testing a reminder.

The browser page will not open.

Use the QR code on Genny for her current address. Put your phone on her hotspot or the same home Wi-Fi. If your phone abandons her hotspot because it has no Internet, choose to stay connected. After home Wi-Fi setup, switch the phone back to that home network.

The clock or reminder time is wrong.

Check Settings → Time & timezone, select your local zone, and confirm Internet access for synchronization. Check each reminder’s own time and enable switch. Reminder times follow Genny’s timezone, not necessarily the phone’s.

For support, note what happened, what Genny was doing, and her firmware version. If Settings shows a serial number, include it too. Firmware and model differences can change which controls are present.
